Corvette ZR1 Process FAQ
List Transfers and Eligibility
Q1: Who is eligible to transfer to the ZR1 list?
A1: Only customers currently on our Future Variant list are eligible to transfer to the ZR1 list.
Q2: Can I transfer from the Stingray, Z06, or E-Ray list to the ZR1 list?
A2: No, transfers from these lists to the ZR1 list are not permitted.
Q3: What happens if I miss the July 31, 2024 transfer deadline?
A3: You may still transfer to the ZR1 list, but your list position will be determined by your request date, effectively guaranteeing a list position outside of the potential allocation opportunity.
Q4: If I decide not to transfer to the ZR1 list, what are my options?
A4: You can,
- Remain on the Future Variant list
- Transfer to the base Stingray list
- Request a refund and be removed from the list
Deposits
Q5: How much is the deposit for the ZR1 list?
A5: The total deposit required is $5,000. If you’re already on the Future Variant list with a $500 deposit, you’ll need to provide an additional $4,500.
Q6: When do I need to pay the additional deposit?
A6: For customers in the top 40, the additional deposit is due when you transfer to the ZR1 list. For customers beyond the top 40, no additional deposit is required until you progress to the top 40.
Q7: Is my deposit refundable?
A7: Yes, your deposit is refundable until your order is placed for production. After that, it becomes non-refundable.
Q8: Where does the deposit apply when the car comes in?
A8: The deposit is applied to the final transaction as a down payment if financing or as a partial payment if paying cash.
Q9: How will my deposit be refunded if I cancel?
A9: We will verify your mailing address and mail a check. Refunds will only be issued to the individual whose name is on the original deposit receipt. Checks can be picked up in person, but the process must be initiated via written request ahead of time.
Allocation and Ordering
Q10: What are my chances of getting a ZR1 allocation?
A10: Based on List Positioning,
Top 10: Likely allocation in the first model year
Next 20: Possible allocation in the 2026 model year
Beyond Top 40: Low probability of ordering within model lifecycle. Recommend exploring alternative options.
Q11: When will I know if I have a confirmed allocation?
A11: We receive allocation information about two weeks before the ordering period. Specific option constraints, if any, are released 5 days before orders in that allocation period must be finalized. Constraints change monthly, and orders are placed on a timed cycle dictated by General Motors.
Q12: Can I customize my ZR1 order?
A12: Yes, once you have a confirmed allocation, you’ll be able to choose colors, options, and packages based on what GM offers for the ZR1, subject to any constraints for that production period.
Pricing and Purchase
Q13: Will Stingray Chevrolet charge over MSRP for the ZR1?
A13: No, we are committed to selling the ZR1 at MSRP plus tax, title, and fees. We will never add a dealer addendum or market adjustment.
Q14: Can I use financing to purchase my ZR1?
A14: Yes, we offer various financing options. We can discuss these in detail when your allocation is confirmed.
Q15: Can I trade my car in early?
A15: No, trade-ins must be evaluated for the current market at the time of contract.
Delivery and Ownership
Q16: Do I have to take delivery at Stingray Chevrolet?
A16: We require local delivery for the ZR1 at our dealership. This ensures the best possible delivery experience and allows us to properly introduce you to your new vehicle. *You also have the option to take Museum Delivery at the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.
Q17: Can I have someone else take delivery of the car for me?
A17: The person whose name is on the order must be present for delivery. Exceptions may be made in extraordinary circumstances, but these must be discussed and approved in advance.
Q18: Is there a break-in period for the ZR1?
A18: Yes, specific break-in instructions will be provided with your vehicle. It’s crucial to follow these to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your ZR1.
Unexpected Circumstances
Q19: What happens if I need to back out of my ZR1 order due to unforeseen circumstances?
A19: If this occurs before your order is placed for production, your deposit is fully refundable. After production begins, we’ll need to discuss options on a case-by-case basis.
Q20: Can I transfer my allocation or deposit list position to someone else?
A20: No, allocations and deposit list positions are non-transferable to maintain fairness in our ordering process.
Q21: What if the ZR1 production is delayed or canceled?
A21: In the unlikely event of significant delays or cancellation, we will communicate all available options to you, including the option for a full refund of your deposit.
